The release of this book, "Saved By Angels to Share How God Talks To Everyday People", (published by Destiny Image), was the culmination of a four year project that, unbeknownst to author Bruce Van Natta, God had been preparing for over thirty years.

The original manuscript was entitled, "God Talks To Everyday People. Are You Listening?". A few months after completing the manuscript the author was involved in a horrific accident that in the eyes of the medical field should have taken his life, in fact they can't find anyone else who has ever lived from some of his injuries. This is the main reason there has been so much national/international media attention about this story.

Doctors say that Bruce should have died within 8-10 minutes after the accident, and it was about at that time that he had an "out of body" experience where he could see his body and the 2 angels that the Lord had sent to save his life, hence the title Saved By Angels.

Over thirty years before this God had performed another miracle in Bruce's life that firmly embeded in his mind the existence of God, (when Jesus hugged him as a child). This could be looked at as the foundation of his spiritual journey and the accident could be seen as the current apex, unfortuneatly there were a lot of dark years in between. After adding the accident story to the original manuscript it became obvious that this was the way the Lord had intended the book to be from the very begining. The way that it all fit together was uncanny and undoubtedly predestined.

The general summary of this book is about what an intimate relationship with God looks like in day to day life. We first need to understand that many, many people have settled for something far less than what Jesus is offering!

When Jesus says that He has come that we may have life and have it to the full (John 10:10), He is saying that He is not only giving us access to know God (John 17:3), but the ability to hear the words that come from the mouth of God (John 8:47, Matthew 4:4).

So He wants an intimate relationship with us where we can not only know Him, but hear His voice.

Many people believe in and practice praying to the Lord, but the Bible is very clear that the Lord also speaks back to us in various ways! 

If we were to examine the Bible very closely we would find that we could separate each and every instance that the the Lord communicated with or to someone, into 7 categories or methods. This book goes into detail about these 7 different ways and how they apply to our lives today.

It reveals to us that these 7 areas are not just the different ways that  God still speaks to us, but that when looked at as a whole, they are a complete picture of what a healthy relationship with God can involve. They are what makes our relationship with Him tangible. He wants our relationship with Him to cover every area of our life, from waking to sleeping.

The book goes on to show that this kind of intimate relationship is available to all believers and that this is exactly the kind of relationship that God desires to have with each of us.

Throughout the book Biblical and personal examples are used to validate and prove the different sections. The reader is also given several opportunities to see how God has already been talking to them in his/her own personal life, and then record these examples at the end of each corresponding chapter.

Each person who reads this book is challenged to grow in his/her relationship with the Lord and is given many tools to help them accomplish that.

This is important because when a believer has an intimate relationship with the Lord, they hear His voice more often and more clearly. The Holy Spirit is then better able to guide and empower the believer to become victorious in their daily walk, and in their work for the Lord. The peace of God begins to settle over their life.

Many people, including a lot of Christians, are searching for something to fulfill the unmet needs and holes they feel in their life. Money, pleasure, success, drugs, alcohol, and even other relationships are just a few of the things that people unknowingly use as substitutes.

A personal, daily, intimate, relationship with Jesus is the only thing that can quell our deepest longings, and even more than that, it's the only thing that will get us into heaven for eternity.
